"The Best of Everything"


(with delicious crepes - a Nigella Lawson recipe).


  • 1 punnet ripe strawberries
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 3 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 to 2 Tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • Freshly ground pepper


  1. Wash and halve the strawberries.
  2. Heat a medium-sized pot or frying pan.
  3. Melt the butter over medium heat.
  4. Add strawberries and sugar stirring gently.
  5. When strawberries have softened slightly, add the balsamic vinegar.
  6. Stir gently until liquid becomes syrupy.
  7. Add a pinch or two of freshly ground pepper, Stir to combine.
  8. Remove from the heat.

To Plate:

  1. Lay one crepe on a flat plate.
  2. Spoon strawberry mixture down the centre of the crepe.
  3. Roll over the ends to form a tube.
  4. Place seam side down and garnish with The Chocolate Sauce.
  5. Further embellish with a sprinkling of chopped nuts, edible flowers and/or a few raw strawberry halves.
